Why Female Tennis Should be Cherished

Really, what is this about?

When Steffi Graf ruled the sport the media did not appreciate it. When the Williams sisters happened to be dominating any person on the route to the title, the media did not want it. And now when things are more well balanced than before? People do not want it.

Most confess that the Williams sisters win easily the majority of the time. But injuries and lessened non-Slam agendas signify they presently meet in the draw before the championship match. Though yet again allow us to bear in mind that very recently the above-mentioned gripes with respect to this frequent matchup in the championship and their dominance over the rest of the athletes.

So presently we have Dinara Safina boasting the number one spot in the ranks and the US Open seedings. And what do they indicate? She doesn’t deserve it since she has not won a Grand Slam (not to mention that she’s been defeated in a couple grand slam finals recently.) Although she’s reaching the slam title and she is rather engaging along the way, in the tennis world and in her personal life.

Today she had to battle it out again, just about becoming the 1st number one seed to be beaten in the 1st round. Was this compelling? I thought so. Although we’ll hear all about the illegitimacy of the rankings structure, yada, yada.

And then there was Venus Williams last night–moreover pushed to 3 sets. Moreover engaging. (Additionally note that Venus didn’t have the most successful of summers post Wimbledon.) Although likely to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.

Furthermore now Kim Clijsters is back and as opposed to being greatly enthralled – which someone must be since she’s friendly and pleasant and a good competitor – people are all like “all right what does it indicate regarding the women’s game that she can come back and have a 6-2 record for the summer months?”

Well I believe it proclaims that she – like she always has -maintains her physical state extraordinarily well. Also that she’s a seasoned player and she has just about nothing to lose.

So let’s just finish all the criticism, please. Sure, there are problems in the ladies game. (For example the absence of diversity in terms of playing technique.) However I personally like that it is anybody’s conjecture as to who’ll be in the finals in under two weeks. And I look forward to seeing how they get there.
