Being Your Boss Isn’t A Job For Everyone!
So you’ve decided to be your own boss? Congratulations! Being your own boss is one of the only ways to live the life you’ve dreamed of, and get rich!
When you have decided to become your own boss, you have to figure out if it is the right calling for you.
I know what you’re thinking. “Sleeping in. Working from home. Making lots of money without having someone to yell at you. Who isn’t that for?”
It isn’t for anyone that wants to be their own boss actually, aside from working at home.
When you make the decision to be your own boss, you must know what type of person you really are. You have to evaluate yourself honestly, and consider your strengths and weaknesses. You must be completely truthful when doing this. If you aren’t ready to do at least that, then you probably aren’t ready to become your own boss.
When you’re ready, begin by listing your habits that may prevent you from having progressing and becoming successful with this business. Is it a habit of yours to procrastinate? Do you put things off and take as much time as you can with each task you must accomplish? Do you need someone to supervise you and constantly look over your shoulder to make sure things are being completed as they should be?
If you find the answer is yes, to any of these questions, it will be a little harder becoming your own boss, but it is just as possible, because after you have an idea of your weaknesses, if you were honest with yourself, you know what to look out for. You know what you will need to keep in check, and what actions of yours can mean the difference between the success, or failure, of your online business. You can help keep these bad habits in check by figuring out what your strengths are.
Like you did for your weaknesses, evaluate yourself honestly and decide where your strengths are. If you are good at motivating yourself, that’s great! If you are good at focusing on a task and getting through it, one after the next, that’s definitely a strength. Still, if all you can think of is the fact that you are tired of working for someone else, use that as a strength.
Use whatever you can come up with to your advantage. If you are really serious about being your own boss, train your mind to break away from the bad habits you have uncovered and admitted. Use those strengths you have to recondition your way of thinking to turn you into a person who is proactive, motivated, and self driven.
Being your own boss is less about being born with some special skill, and more about accepting that you aren’t perfect, but you can get better. But, you can only get better by knowing what you need to improve on, and by doing it.
A great idea is nice, but taking action will beat it every time. Here’s to you, being your own boss!
