The makeup artists work back stage and they are generally not well paid. Without these artists the actors and actresses would not be able to play the roles they are casted in. Without these cosmetics professionals the role of a performer on stage, movie or television is unfinished. Yet they are barely recognised, even BAFTA does not have prizes for cosmetics professionals and hair stylists. The work of the cosmetics professionals can be judged by the plays and movies that get prizes each year.
